I’m about to reveal to you my current guilty pleasure. If you’re a self confessed foodie then you’ll understand my passion for dare I say it, yiros. Known as The Yiros Shop, Brisbane is blessed with five locations across Fortitude Valley, Cannon Hill, South Brisbane, Capalaba and Newmarket.
I wouldn’t be able to write this post if I hadn’t been to all five. (guilty) Each location delivers the delicious goods, but my all time favourite has to be the brand new Cannon Hill shop. Their menu is more extensive and stars Greek Lemon Potatoes and Soutzoukakia (Greek meatballs in tomato sauce). Yum!
Their manager even shared that it’s the busiest shop in all of Brisbane. So I guess, the brand new menu is proving to be a total hit.
If you’re on that budget life, then cheap eats will get you an $11 yiros including a can of drink on a Tuesday while Thursdays are all about $10 snack boxes (meat & salad or chips).
And if you’re running late or simply want to avoid lines at all expenses, then order ahead on their app, The Yiros Shop. And of course they’re available on Deliveroo and UberEats. So, convenience is key and slightly contributes to the reason why I’m obsessed.
If you’re wondering what my personal recommendations are besides the classic yiros: Haloumi chips, homemade Taramasalata with hot, fluffy, fresh pita, Calamari and Greek topped chips are my winners.
