When is Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane 2018?

Monday 27th August, 2018 – Thursday 30th August, 2018.

Where is it?

The Fashion Festival returns to the iconic Old Government House in the QUT Gardens Point precinct, as the destination for the majority of runway shows.

Who is the hair sponsor?

Schwarzkopf Professional. They have been the Festival’s partner since its inception.

Who is the makeup sponsor?

Napoleon Perdis joins the Fashion Festival once again as the official Makeup Partner. An icon of the Australian beauty industry, makeup mogul Napoleon Perdis has been a dedicated supporter of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane since the beginning.

Fast fact:

More than 2,000 tickets sold in less than seven days, so the Fashion Festival team announced that two runway Group Shows will be repeated, for the first time in the event’s 12-year history.

Mercedes-Benz Group Show 1 at St John’s Cathedral and Mercedes-Benz Group Show 2 at Old Government House will both run a second time at 8.30pm.

Who is the face of MBFF Brisbane 2018?

Grace Simons.

Who is she? 

Grace from Chic Australia is a Brisbane local who has skyrocketed to fashion fame. Represented internationally by Next Worldwide, Grace now divides her time between New York and Paris, strutting the runway for the likes of Valentino, Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs, Saint Laurent and more.

What season are the designers showcasing?

Designers will present their new Spring/Summer collections.

Which designers are showcasing their collections?

To kick off the runway, the Pacific Fair Fashion Show on Monday, 27 August will feature an amazing line-up of Pacific Fair’s leading Australian and global fashion brands, presenting the hottest trends for the new season.

For the ultimate indulgent mix, the ever-popular QueensPlaza High Tea and Fashion Trends series returns, held at Tattersall’s Club on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 August at 10.00am. Hosted by leading stylist Kimberly Gardner, guests will enjoy delicious treats and champagne as they peruse the must-have new-season trends from QueensPlaza’s renowned Australian and international luxury brands.

On Tuesday evening the Fashion Festival goes off-site, with a runway show hosted at St John’s Cathedral in the CBD. The magnificent Cathedral will provide the backdrop for Mercedes-Benz Group Show 1, featuring some of the most sought-after local and national designers presenting cutting-edge collections, spectacular couture and bridal: Camilla, Moreno Marcos, Ginger & Smart, White Label Noba, Alice McCall, Bianca Spender, Dion Lee, Scanlan Theodore, Ella Moda and George Wu.

On Wednesday, 29 August the future of fashion will be on display as the Festival returns to Old Government House for the Next Gen Group Show, presenting the creative visions of more than 20 emerging fashion designers: QUT Fashion, Kimbralou, Kokoswim, KG BOLD, Annalisse Designs, TAFE Queensland, Murrii Quu Designs, Club Couture Australia, Jordan Hewitt, Nardia Panettiere Couture, Black N Bling and ZENgara by Naomi De Marco.

And, wrapping up the 2018 program on a suitably stylish note, Mercedes-Benz Group Show 2 on Thursday 30 August will showcase top Queensland and Australian designers presenting resort, daywear and menswear, including: Aqua Blu Australia, Rubyyaya, Maiocchi, Naudic, Bonita Kaftans, Helen Grant, Sacha Drake, Bora and Urbbana. Following the show, guests are invited to join the Fashion Festival teams in celebrating at the Treasury Brisbane Wrap Party.
