On September 16, Stokehouse Q will present an evening of pure culinary adventure, created by none other than the incredibly talented Richard Ousby, newly appointed Executive Chef of the Stokehouse Restaurants nationally, and found at home in Stokehouse Q. Flavour artist extraordinaire, he’s ready to rogue up for an evening of fun and flavours – flavours that will surprise, particularly when it is revealed what they actually are!

Leaving the script behind and abandoning the recipe book, Richard will shape a five course dinner with a difference, only reveal what each dish is AFTER it has been devoured! Guests are invited to relax, savour the incredible flavours and know that everything on the plate has been prepared by a master.

Richard is no stranger to experimenting with bold flavours and new techniques. His menu at the Stokehouse Q celebrates local produce while staying innovative and drawing on multiple cultural inspirations for each and every dish. Having taken South Bank restaurant from strength to strength since taking the reins in early 2013, Richard continues to ensure the restaurant and bar remains an iconic food lover’s destination. At just 32 years of age he already has a swag of awards under his belt, having been named the Acqua Panna & San Pellegrino Young Chef of the Year in 2012 and Electrolux Australian Young Chef of the Year in 2011. Here in Brisbane, he earned Stokehouse Q its second chef’s hat in 2013, almost immediately after taking over the kitchen as Head Chef. He now has been handed the baton to creating the flavours nationally for the Stokehouse group of restaurants!

The secret menu to Richard’s upcoming dinner is so intriguing, it needs its own MC, with wine connoisseur, sommelier and Brisbane bon vivant Peter Marchant set to take diners through each dish. A food equivalent to the famous Wine Options Game will be hosted, putting pay to the off-script menu and encouraging diners to be creative with their tastebuds! Creative cuisine, good company and stunning views of the city from Stokehouse’s riverside location – what more could you want in an evening?
