The Race that Stops the Nation

So if you want to enjoy the fine foods and sparkling wines this Melbourne Cup, let me introduce you to the places you need to be to have that glamorous and stylish day you deserve.

The obvious choice is none other than the Eagle Farm Racecourse, offering several different packages or marquees to suit your price range or taste pallet. You won’t be disappointed wherever you go. With my personal choice being the Top Shelf Marquee the embodiment of elegance, style, and class. The Top Shelf Marquee offers a three course plated lunch created at the hands of award winning restaurateur, Philip Johnson. Within the comfort of the marquee, one can enjoy Bollinger Champaign, along with all of the racing action on the large television screens. Right outside the marquee is the courtyard which is located right on the track fence. Need I say more, if class and style is what you want, come down to Doomben Racecourse.

Now if the racetrack isn’t your type of setting, check out none other than the Palazzo Versace. Melbourne Cup at Palazzo Versace is the destination to be if status and class is what you’re after. With three different packages available, one can choose from the Garden Party, Ladies Lunch, or Calcutta. With a buffet luncheon that includes, oysters, salmon, eye fillets, lamb cutlets, and barbequed prawns, my mouth is watering by just writing this. With free sparkling wine or beer on arrival and the whole race on plasma screens, Palazzo Versace boasts great food and comfort. The entertainment doesn’t stop there though because there is also a Calcutta auction and the best hat and best dressed will be awarded. With the prizes coming straight from Versace themselves as well as other great places, the winner will definitely be the envy of many.

Well that’s my Brisbane wrap up for Melbourne Cup. Hope you have the stylish and glamorous day you deserve. Win big, party hard, have fun and most of all enjoy the race, as the whole nation stops with you, to enjoy a moment in history.
