A few years later the popularity of Jo-Jo's was outstanding and more space was required and the first ever outside balcony of its type was approved by The Brisbane City Council.

Today, Jo-Jo's Restaurant is one of Queensland's most iconic restaurants and the longest standing restaurant in Brisbane.

Arriving at our delicious destination, we travelled up the escalator and were greeted by the welcoming staff who showed us to our private table on the outside balcony.

It was Monday evening and we were quite impressed as to how many diners were enjoying what Jo Jo's Restaurant had to offer.

Starting the night with a refreshing drink Michael (Culture Editor) ordered a Peroni Leggera and I ordered a Chardonnay.

As a starter we had a Groumet Brushetta Pizza which was simple. The parmesan added a nice balance which complimented the tomato and onions and to our surprise this dish had a BBQ sauce base.

The dough itself seemed a little dry and the olive oil wasn't balanced and ended up more heavily on one side of the pizza.

Our mains arrived and Michael had the Waygu Rib with Chips and Mushroom Sauce and I had the Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli.

Michael's meal was what he described as a "typical Waygu Rib ... nothing over the top."

"The chips were delicious along with the creamy mushroom sauce. The only fault was I ordered my steak to be cooked 'medium' but unfortunately I received 'well done'."

My Ravioli dish was nice, simple and classic. I would suggest it as a perfect winter dish as it has a surprising amount of pumpkin cream. The crispy cheddar wafer was a delicious touch and a matched wine makes for a flawless meal.

Dessert was a treat and a half. Michael had the Banana Split Waffle Sundae and I had the Belgium Waffles.

The presentation of the dessert was fantastic. The chocolate sauce was quite rich but my waffles lacked the crunch that I was craving.

All in all, it was an indulgent dessert.

Jo Jo's Restaurant offers a relaxed and casual dining experience above the hustle and bustle of Brisbane's City.

With six food stations, a family vibe and a great price point, it is no wonder that Jo Jo's Restaurant is iconic and a house-hold name.
