DC boasts a collection of over 240 different spirits and liquors not including the 85 being of a gin variety, with this in mind it's hard to think you won't find something to fall in love with.
Outside of your average bar, the Dutch Courage also has an era inspired Far East themed menu with the décor to match.
With a majority of the menu comprised of share-based platters that perfectly match the drink range, a true standout would be the "Ploughman's Platter" – resembling an Middle Eastern inspired antipasti dish complimented beautifully with homemade damper, this is one not to be missed. If that doesn't excite you, there are always your more contemporary bar snacks such as beer battered chips and aioli or salt & pepper squid, suiting any occasion you may find yourself in.
Staying strong to their theme, be prepared to take a time warp as Dutch Courage explores the 19th century colonial period. Staying true to the ori-"gin" (excuse my play on words) DC's owner Matthew Hilan explains his vision "We were inspired by a period in history where military formality during the day would give way to carefree partying, socialising and unwinding at night in campaign tents and mess halls".
Whatever your reason to visit Brisbane's latest nightlife gem, you may just become a regular, as DC has even established a passport like game for you to stamp as you experience the menu to earn your very own pair of DC dog tags.
So if you are into experiencing fine food, an expansive range of drinks or a new location with a unique theme, you won't be disappointed at the Dutch Courage Officers' Mess, who knows, you may just find your perfect match...
