A League of Her Own

Have you found it difficult breaking into the music industry?

I had a very lucky break to get into the industry initially but to build a career I have had to back it up with hard work, thinking outside the box, making and working towards goals, being resourceful and staying positive.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Duffy, Paloma Faith, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, Ella Fitzgerald, Harry Connick Jnr and Louis Armstrong.

What do you think about when you are performing?

I try to be as 'in the moment' as possible - sometimes I try new ways of saying lines so I'm thinking about that, but mostly, I'm doing my best to stay in the scene and/or to keep listening to the other person/people I'm on stage with.

What else can we expect from you in the future?

I'd like to continue to keep working in musical theatre, as well as working in film and TV, recording albums and singing with Symphony Orchestras. I'd definitely also like to keep writing.

What advice do you have for aspiring artists?

To keep working as hard as you can, to be supportive of your fellow artists and keep focused on your goal in the most positive, enthusiastic way you can.
