9 movies you need to watch this Christmas

Written by Jessica Lunan

It's time to get festive up in here!

It wouldn’t be Christmas without indulging in our fave festive films, right? There’s just something about Christmas movies that are so timeless, give us that warm fuzzy feeling and to get to the nitty gritty, have become part of our holiday tradition!

So, to ensure you all get a good dose of feel good vibes (and relaxing couch time) we’ve compiled a list of the best Christmas movies you need to watch this holiday season. And we’re not ashamed to admit we’re getting those Christmas Eve #feels as we type this!

The Grinch

It just wouldn’t be right to start off a list of the must watch Christmas movies without beginning with The Grinch. You’ve got Jim Carey humour, hilariously relatable quotes and your childhood nostalgia. And don’t even try to pretend like you’re not crying when the Grinch’s heart grows at the end.

Love Actually

A.K.A. the best movie of all time! This British film will make your heart swell (and did we mention it’s British?) Filled with love, comedy and Christmas, can it even get any better? The answer is no.

Home Alone Saga

“Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal.” If you’re going to watch Home Alone you have to make a marathon of it.

The Santa Claus

Another throw back. It simply wouldn’t be Christmas without watching this classic. Just make sure it’s the first movie though.

The Holiday

Yep we’re a sucker for snow, wine, romance and Jude Law...

Bridget Jones Diary

Just watch the original Bridget Jones Diary for Mr Darcy’s reindeer sweater and Bridget’s weirdly cute festive get up.

Mean Girls

Ok, ok it is a reach but the Mean Girls dance to Jingle Bells Rock makes it count as a Christmas movie, ok! And the fact that Regina eats those Kälteen bars which looks a lot like chocolate makes it an Easter movie too... moving along.

Bad Santa

Ahh, we’ve had to add this here so the boys won’t be complaining about all the “gross romance movies” we’ve been listing.

Now, it wouldn’t be the festive season without watching Elf! You’ve got Will Ferrell, Zooey Deschanel and Christmas. What more could you possibly want?

So go forth and binge watch, we’re not judging!
