Everybody loves a summer holiday. It’s a chance to get away and soak up some sun, wriggle your pedicured toes in the sand and show off your bikini collection! But it’s not all glamour and Insta-worthy beach views. We know life isn’t a Snapchat story, so here are the seven thoughts everyone has on their summer getaway:
I don’t sparkle, I sweat
We can all say we sparkle or glow instead of sweating, but sometimes it’s just so hot at your vacay destination that the tinted sunscreen slides off as quickly as you can apply it! Luckily it’s just an excuse for an icy cold daiquiri by the pool, followed by a dip!

I have to look #blessed
Admit it: you can’t resist snapping a shot of your glorious view, or your bronzed legs on a beach towel, and then sharing it to Instagram with the hashtags #blessed, #islandlife and #howsyourfriday. We say, why not!
Sunburn is a b*tch
It’s super important to be sun safe, but occasionally we slip up and forget to reapply after swimming, or we doze off in the sun and wake up as red as a lobster! It’s never fun dealing with the pain of sunburn, so if you plan on wearing cheeky bikini bottoms, you’d better not get a burnt booty!
Vacay calories don’t count, right?
It’s your holiday, so you might be letting your hair down and having that extra slice of pizza or that sugary cocktail. You deserve it! Enjoy your fabulous holiday time without feeling the shame of some extra snacking.
Why is there sand in EVERYTHING?!
Ah, beach holidays. Sand between your toes, sand in your hair, sand in your bikini, sand in your beach bag, sand in your suitcase, sand in…everything! We’ve all felt the effects of accidentally bringing half the beach back to the hotel room. Summer getaways aren’t all glitz and glamour, gals.
Maybe I should skinny dip…
Be bold! Be free! Just either do it somewhere where it’s specifically allowed, or sneak onto the beach at night time when there won’t be any kids or grannies to shock! Get a little cheeky – you’re on holidays!
Best. Trip. Ever.
Despite the sand, new freckles and possibly a bit of peeling skin, summer trips are what we live for. Is there anything better than a few blissful days of cocktails, swimming and parading around in your hot new swimwear wardrobe? No way.
