Ekka Natural Fibres Fashion Parade celebrates milestone
It’s that time of year when we all await the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka). Not only do we love the excuse to unleash our inner child with the rides, but we always look forward to the Natural Fibres Fashion Parades.
Crowned Australia’s longest-running free fashion Parade, 2016 marks its 25th year of being directed by Lindsay Bennett. In celebration of this milestone, the Natural Fibres Fashion Parade is set to be one of its most captivating yet.
At the beginning of each show, a stunning retrospective will play in tribute to the events history and the renowned designers who have been featured. In addition, twelve of Queensland’s premium designers will be showcasing their previous designs that have graced the Natural Fibres runway, including Sacha Drake, Tengdahl and Maiocchi.
Lindsey Bennet has stated that he’s incredibly excited to be working with the Ekka for another year.
“Materials from the Sunshine State’s farms are presented in their most beautiful form, expertly spun into couture and ready-to-wear fashion. It’s fantastic to see local industries supported and promoted before such a significant audience at Queensland’s biggest annual event,” said Mr. Bennet.
This year's parade will featuring local, natural materials and collections by White Label Noba and George Wu, just to name a few of the designers who will grace the runway. We can guarantee that it will be a parade to remember.
