British style icon, Alexa Chung has collaborated yet again with AG to create a fresh, 1970’s inspired Autumn/Winter‘15 collection.
The collection, whose campaign is fronted by Australian model and media sensation, Mimi Elashiry, is packed with transitional, textured items perfect for the office, a night out on the town or even for a festival-filled weekend.
Chung’s second collaboration experiments with new textures in addition to the staple denim, featured heavily in the first collection, incorporating rich suedes, sumptuous corduroy, chambray and broken twill.
“The first collection was very focused and stripped back, I challenged myself to create an essential denim wardrobe. With the second collection it was more about where I could take it”, said Chung.
The collection, described by Chung as an “evolution”, features tomboyish yet feminine and sophisticated silhouettes through slouchy tops, graphic tees, silk Gordonderry high-neck blouses and Dottie button-down shirts.
The 1970s influence becomes evident in the introduction of retro-tinged suede shorts with an elevated waistline and lace-up detailing, with the Revolution cropped flare and Chung’s staple overalls making a comeback in this collection in supima and corduroy.
AG President, Sam Ku, believes that their collaboration with Chung has created the perfect ready-to-wear collection.
“The collection is elevated yet still accessible, and is quintessential Alexa, while still embodying the AG brand”,” said Ku.
Outerwear is also being introduced in the collaboration, with black suede, vintage-inspired Walker coat being a key statement piece, whilst the Hitt shrunken jacket in twill makes the perfect piece for casual layering.
The collection is now available in David Jones and selected premium boutiques for Australia and New Zealand. Retail pricing will range from $199 to $2049.
