It was bound to happen that the talented 28 year old would be part of the 'Designers for Target' program. Previously Target has collaborated with Peter Morrissey, Sass and Bide and Danni Minogue and now it's time for Lee to shine.
The designer himself said it was a straightforward decision to release a diffusion range with Australia's largest retailer.
"As our international business continues to grow, we were excited about the opportunity to create a collection that will give more women across Australia access to the Dion Lee brand," Mr Lee said.
"The Dion Lee for Target collection is designed to reflect the lifestyle of the contemporary woman, mixing elements of tailoring, lounge and active wear, to create the ultimate modern wardrobe.
"The collection features signature tailored detailing, laser cut and technical fabrications, and a firstever performance capsule.
"It has been fantastic to work with Target to create my first performance wear pieces, focused on creating modern active wear, balancing function and aesthetics."
The 35-piece Dion Lee for Target collection features day-to-night clothing, loungewear, performance wear and accessories. The prices range between $25 and $119.
"The active Australian lifestyle inspired me to create a range of stylish and effortless clothing for women to wear every day. Even though the designs can be technical, I think style and function remain paramount," Mr Lee said.
Target Managing Director, Stuart Machin, said the retailer was excited to collaborate with an Australian designer for its 'Designers for Target' program in 2015.
"Dion Lee is an incredibly talented young designer and Target is proud to bring his designer aesthetic to women across Australia," he said.
"Our Designers for Target program makes high-end fashion affordable and more accessible to everyone, and we can't wait to unveil the Dion Lee for Target collection."
