Coco Rocha modelling the limited-edition Baggallini bag collection

Supermodel Coco Rocha has teamed up with Baggallini on a limited-edition collection that makes a case for something many women have been waiting for: bags that look good but can actually cope with a busy day.

The six-piece Coco Rocha x Baggallini capsule brings Rocha's high-fashion perspective together with Baggallini's long-standing focus on organisation and practicality. It is designed around the reality that one bag may need to take you from work and appointments to travel, family commitments and everything that happens in between.

The return of the bag that carries everything

At the centre of the collaboration is the Super Bagg, an intentionally oversized carryall with a relaxed, slouchy silhouette.

It also arrives at an interesting time for handbags. Fashion Weekly has previously explored the return of the oversized designer bag trend, where statement-making proportions have increasingly been paired with everyday practicality. The Super Bagg takes that idea considerably further.

There is room for the things that can quickly make a smaller handbag impractical for a full day out. The design includes a padded laptop sleeve, phone pocket, key leash and water bottle storage, while two exterior shoe compartments were inspired by Rocha's experience of carrying heels and changing shoes between castings.

For anyone interested in how handbags have moved between practicality, status and statement-making design over the decades, Fashion Weekly's look at 50 years of handbag trends provides some interesting context.

Inspired by a life that rarely stays in one lane

Rocha has spent more than two decades in fashion, while also building a career beyond modelling as an entrepreneur and mentor. She is also a mother of three and frequent traveller.

Rather than designing a bag around one particular occasion, the collaboration considers how women frequently move between different parts of their lives without going home to change their outfit — or their handbag.

It is an approach that fits neatly with Baggallini's history. The brand was founded 30 years ago by two female flight attendants who understood firsthand the need for lightweight, organised bags that could keep up with frequent travel.

That balance between what a bag says about personal style and what it actually needs to do is something we have also explored in What Your Handbag Says About You.

More than the Super Bagg

While the oversized Super Bagg is the statement piece, the collaboration is a six-piece capsule rather than a single hero product. The collection launched on 17 September 2026 through Baggallini and selected retailers, with US pricing ranging from $100 to $200.

The broader idea behind the collection is perhaps more interesting than any individual bag: taking the organisational features traditionally associated with practical or travel bags and presenting them in a more fashion-led way.

When practical becomes part of fashion

There was a time when the fashionable handbag and the practical work or travel bag occupied very different parts of the wardrobe.

That distinction is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain.

Laptops come to cafés. Gym clothes go to work. Work travels with us. A day that starts with a meeting may end with dinner, shopping or collecting children, without an opportunity to go home in between.

The result is a stronger case for accessories that can move between those roles.

For travellers, organisation becomes even more important. Fashion Weekly's weekend trip packing guide similarly looks at packing around versatile pieces rather than taking more than you need.

Fashion Weekly's take

The Coco Rocha x Baggallini collaboration is interesting because it does not ask women to choose between statement style and practicality.

The Super Bagg will undoubtedly be too large for anyone who prefers to travel light. For everyone who somehow accumulates a laptop, charger, water bottle, cosmetics, sunglasses and half their life before lunchtime, its exaggerated proportions may be precisely the attraction.

There is also something refreshing about seeing a fashion collaboration designed around how women actually move through their day.

The collection launched on 17 September 2026 and is available through Baggallini and selected retailers. Australian shoppers should confirm international shipping, pricing and availability before purchasing.
