Spring has sprung, and with it comes one of Brisbane’s most vibrant, exciting times of the year: Brisbane Fashion Month. For the entire month of October, Brisbanites can attend exclusive events pertaining to all things fashion. Runway shows, designer pop-ups, fashion film festivals, Q&A sessions, branding brunches and a fabulous finale party. The second last weekend of October is one of the highlights, with Brisbane Fashion Weekend taking place on the 22nd-23rd.
Enter spring with a splash by attending one (or all) of these fashion events, sure to thrill any style blogger, aspiring designer or fashion enthusiast.
QLD Designers Pop-Up Shop
For the whole month of October, Wintergarden Brisbane is hosting Queensland designers in a Brisbane Fashion Month dedicated pop-up shop. Emerging and established designers have a space to showcase their pieces and sell them directly to the public. This is an exclusive chance to discover trendy new pieces and meet the designers behind the art!
Fashion Film Festival 1st-2nd October
Come along to the Fashion Film Festival to experience a whole new side to the fashion world. On October 1st see showings of Advanced Style and Men of the Cloth, and on October 2nd you can see Bill Cunningham and Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel. Fashion Weekly’s Director, Stacey O'Keeffe will be making a special appearance and saying a few words before the showing of Diana Vreeland. Don’t miss this!
All screenings are to be held at Griffith University Film School at their Southbank Campus.
Blogging, Branding and Fashion Brunch 8th October
Be privy to exclusive fashion insider tips as a panel of experts discuss the business side of fashion and share some secrets of the trade. Enjoy a fabulous brunch at Brisbane Riverview Hotel and soak up the girlboss power in the room! Stylist Laura Churchill will host, as blogger and photographer Elle-May Leckenby reveals her top tips for motion graphics, location sourcing and creating content that is memorable and unique. Our very own Editor-in-Chief, Stacey O’Keeffe, will share the latest on social and digital media and how to monetise your brand. Sarah Timmerman, the woman behind Beginning Boutique, will give insight into her hugely successful online fashion business, and influencer Nikki Parkinson from Styling You will share her tips on moving your blog from hobby to successful business.
Resort at James St 12th-15th October
James Street in Fortitude Valley will pull out all the stops for its annual Resort event, taking place over several days. Expect pop-up shops and VIP bars, designer collabs, free early morning fitness sessions with Infernofit, and an incredible UV-lit flower installation called the Night Garden. Throughout the RESORT events you can also see the amazing works of local artists displayed on James Street.
Visit RESORT After Dark on October 13 for a fabulous fashion show plus a night of pop-ups and VIP activations and discounts. Even better, there will be 200 exclusive gift bags for the early birds who arrive at 6pm! Follow this fashion event with a series of after-parties in James St's best bars and clubs.

Designer Q Red Carpet Fashion Event
Hailed as Brisbane’s biggest red carpet event, Designer Q launches the labels of up-and-coming designers from around the world as well as showcasing the new labels of prominent designers. This year, the runway will showcase the work of 15 designers. Ticket options include VIP, which comprises gift bags, front row seats and access to the exclusive opening party, including drinks, canapés and a chance to mingle with the designers. This unmissable show is held in St John’s Cathedral and is sure to delight even the trendiest of fashionistas.
