Celebrate all things local with Brisbane’s most exciting competition thanks to Brisbane Fashion Month!
It’s time for all you fashion lovers to prepare themselves- Brisbane Fashion Month is returning for its second, awe-inspiring year. Raising the profile of Queensland fashion, the month long event provides forums for education and discussion, opportunities to showcase your work through pop up stores and competitions, not to mention all the chances to mix with industry professionals and peers. Founder and Director Carly Vidal-Wallace created the event in hopes to unite the industry and provide a substantial platform for national media coverage and audience engagement.
Fashion Weekly is proud to be a sponsor for such an important and stylish event. Our very own Director, Stacey O’Keeffe, will be part of an elite panel of fashion personnel to help judge the Creative Competition.
This event is the chance to showcase the work of designers, illustrators, stylists and photographers alike. Whether you have recently graduated from high school or university or you are a self-taught creative, you can enter. Entrants will be judged on their unique approach, originality and professionalism within its selected group. The categories include: Fashion Design, Accessory Design, Millinery Design, Styling/Photography, and Fashion Illustration.
Along with Stacey, a hand-picked panel of Brisbane leaders will judge the up and coming talent including Stylist Laura Churchill, Beginning Boutique founder and director Sarah Timmerman, Milliner Meredith McMaster, Senior Marketing Manager of Wintergarden Sarah Nolan, and Designer Andrzej Pytel from House of Ezis.
Each category winner will receive an online profile on the BFM website, the winning contestant will have their work showcased plus a creative photoshoot with the entry piece will be provided for portfolio purposes. Each category also has their own selection of individual prizes ranging in value up to $4290!
After initial submission, the finalists work will be placed on display in Wintergarden for shoppers to vote for their favourite piece.
