Brisbane’s homeware devotees were up bright and early on October 1 to celebrate the first local store opening of the iconic North America-based home furnishing chain Pottery Barn, West Elm and Pottery Barn Kids. The trio of stores is located in Brisbane’s stylish shopping hub, Fortitude Valley and can be found on Wandoo Street, right off the bustling James Street.
This opening marks the first expansion of North America-based global retailer Williams-Sonoma, Inc. into Queensland.
“Recognised globally for its unique sophistication and style, Brisbane is one of the fastest-growing capital cities in Australia. As such, our global expansion will continue with three stores opening in Fortitude Valley, amidst a hive of activity already established,” said Ron Young, Senior Vice President of Global, Williams-Sonoma, Inc.
“At the heart of our brands – Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and West Elm – are unique design, exceptional customer service, and a calendar of in-store experiences for our customers”, said Young.
The three home furnishing stores are interconnected to create an enjoyable shopping experience. Signature services provided from the stores include free in-home Design Service, where customers can consult with Design Specialists at no charge and in-store home styling classes.
For the lover of classic styles, Pottery Barn is where you will find a range of cosy homewares that add that homely feel. Don’t be deterred if your style is more contemporary, the West Elm store offers an array of home furnishing and accessories that vary from industrial to Scandinavian aesthetics.
A line-up of local, creative collaborations has coincided with the stores’ opening day celebrations with the first 300 customers at West Elm receiving an exclusive limited-edition tote bag in partnership with Brisbane designer and letterer Jasmine Dowling. Customers joining in on the opening day festivities were treated to a complimentary coffee by Merlo and a decadent Bourbon Choc-Chip Cookie especially created by local baker, The Sugar Hit.
