5 Local Shops that Prove Brisbane has Nice Things

1. Showroom Brisbane
They say they're "curated like a magazine, ever changing like a gallery and sell stuff like a shop." And they'd be right. Catherine, the creator of this Paddington treasure trove, has expertly curated a collection of local artisans in a stunning light-filled Queenslander. Check out their schedule of crafty workshops, too.

2. Nook
Step one: say hello to dedicated shop cat, Pedro. Step two: walk up the steps of this cute West End cottage and enter the world of Nook. The perfect balance of quirky, cute and all kinds of "Etsy In Real Life", it's a solid go-to for gifts of all kinds.

3. Clap Hands
Northsiders, don't despair. There's a cute store just for you stocking Australian designers such as Angus & Celeste, Ladedah Kids, Able & Game gift cards and Each To Own jewellery. Worth remembering when you need to find that piece for the house that is one-of-a-kind.

4. Sheets on the Line
If sleep is important to you then Sheets On The Line is your new best friend. With a range of organic sheets, throw rugs and home wares, this is worth the pennies you'll lay down to keep your 8-hours a night in check. My favourite item? It's hard to go past their linen sheet sets!

5. Bakery Lane
OK, so it's not technically a shop but rather a collection of local food (holla, I Heart Brownies!) makers and boutiques. I double-dare you to walk out of The Botanist empty handed or Stock and Supply without something for the dapper gent in your life. And if you really want to amp up your #shoplocal cred, check out their first Saturday of the month Providore Market.
