13 Things men think we don't notice, but we actually do

So it's date night and mmm, you smell good, babe! It may not be your favourite cologne but you know it's our fave and that's enough for you to wear it.

1. Their haircut

Or any other changes in their appearance. Guys may think we don't notice if they've gotten a new haircut or are wearing a new outfit, but we definitely do. As for guys noticing when a girl gets a new haircut though? That's a whole other story...

2. Their butt

I'm a sucker for a cute butt - if you're wearing a tight pair of chinos, we're definitely checking out your ass.

3. When they're checking us out (or any other girls!)

Subtlety isn't exactly a man's strongest suit. You may think that sly turn of the head after a gorgeous woman walked past has gone unnoticed by us, but it hasn't. Sorry to burst your bubble.

4. Overall grooming

You may think greasy, slicked back hair and three-day-old stubble gives you a sexy Italian vibe, but it just makes us wonder when was the last time you had a shower.

5. How often they scratch or readjust themselves

What is it with men and their constant need to adjust their, ahem, packages? Look, I get that it probably gets itchy or uncomfortable every now and then but for the love of god, please don't make it so obvious!

6. How they're dressed

If you're getting around in tracky dacks, a ratty shirt and thongs, I'm going to judge you. If a guy doesn't give two cents about his appearance, we're going to assume he probably doesn't care about many other things in his life either.

7. The cleanliness of his apartment

Oh, so you thought that pile of unwashed clothes under the bed and beard shavings in the sink would go unnoticed by us? Nice try. My ex kept a pretty clean apartment most of the time, but sometimes I'd notice recycling he hadn't taken out yet that was still sitting there a week later. Yeah, we notice everything.

8. Cleaning up their beard stubble for us

You may look like a teenage boy now but at least your face doesn't scratch mine anymore when we kiss.

9. Wearing our favourite cologne

So it's date night and mmm, you smell good, babe! It may not be your favourite cologne but you know it's our fave and that's enough for you to wear it.

10. Taking mental notes on things we like

Once, I mentioned in passing that my favourite flowers were peonies and months later, my ex bought me a beautiful big bunch of them. I barely remembered telling him, but he'd committed it to memory. We always notice it when you remember little details like this and it makes us swoon.

11. Manners

If please and thankyou are missing from your vocabulary, it's an instant turn-off.

12. The way you treat other people

Rude to wait staff, mean to his mum and unfriendly to strangers? Thanks but no thanks. The way you treat other people speaks volumes about a person. Catching a guy offering to help an old lady with her groceries or holding the door for someone with their hands full is sexy as hell.

13. How you act around kids

Cute guy? Tick. Nice hair? Tick. Smells good? Tick. Good with kids? OVARY EXPLOSION.
