Selena Gomez cancels Revival Tour due to health

Selena Gomaz is taking a much-needed break to take care of herself.

Selena Gomez has had to cancel her Revival Tour in order to get her health and wellbeing back on track.

The singer revealed about a year ago that she suffers from lupus, which inflames the skin and organs and causes fatigue. What many people don’t know is that lupus can also lead to anxiety, panic attacks and depression.

Add that to her recent journey with chemotherapy and no wonder Selena needs a break.

We wonder if this decision was influenced by family and friends, who were planning an intervention after Selena’s uncharacteristic Insta feud with Justin Bieber that culminated in Biebs deleting his profile.

For a while, it seemed like Selena was unstoppable as she shed her child star status and came into her own as a sexy, empowered woman, but even superstars need to rest.

The Revival Tour was set to continue in Canada this weekend, followed by Europe, and Central and South America. We aren’t sure if the tour is totally cancelled or just postponed, but we definitely understand that Selena needs to take care of herself!

The usually sunny singer said in a statement to PEOPLE:

"Thank you to all my fans for your support. You know how special you are to me, but I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best. I know I am not alone by sharing this, I hope others will be encouraged to address their own issues.”

Fans will understandably be disappointed, but we’re sure they’ll agree that the most important thing for Selena right now is to focus on her health and staying positive for the future.

Stay strong, Selena – we love you, girl!
