Khloe Kardashian has finally broken the family silence after sister, Kim Kardashian, was robbed at gunpoint in her Parisian apartment during Fashion Week. Over $10 million worth of jewellery was stolen from the reality star.
Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Khloe stated that Kim's “not doing that well”.
“It’s incredibly traumatic what happened to her, but our family is super close and great and we’ll get through it together. We do appreciate all your guys’ love and support. It will take time. It’s horrible what happened to her,” said Khloe.
Allegedly 5 men dressed in police uniforms broke into Kim’s luxury apartment where they held a gun to her head, put masking tape over her mouth and placed her in a bathtub. While the news of the robbery shocked the world, it wasn’t soon before people lashed out, stating that the star deserved it due to her high social media presence.
This oversharing across online platforms has been an issue for the family in the past. For many Keeping Up With The Kardashian addicts out there you’d know that Kim, Khloe and Kourtney pranked younger sister Kylie Jenner by placing stalker-esque balloons all over her car while at lunch. The stunt was supposed to scare Kylie, who is the most followed person on Snapchat, to reign in the amount she shares on her social media.
However, it’s interesting that Kim, who was all for scaring Kylie, didn’t take her own advice in the lead up to the robbery. She often shared her location and lavish lifestyle to her millions of Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter followers.
Since the attack, the whole family have hardly made a peep on their accounts. Ellen took note of this, asking Khloe if they will ever get back to frequently posting again.
"I think it's just a wake-up call to make a lot of life adjustments. This is a really serious matter and for Kim, I think it's really personal as to when- that emotional terror - you could move on from that. I think for us it's all a wake-up call for all of us, but definitely just to make sure that our sister's okay,” said Khloe.
"(We want to) make sure that we are protected as much as possible. Like I said, we are a family and we will do this together and I think it is important to maybe make those adjustments. And to pull back a little bit is always smart,” said Khloe.
We hope that Kim is recovering well. While we’re not sure when she’ll be back to posting on social media, we’re sure that when she does he’ll break the internet.
