2017 Met Gala: The Top Five Best and Worst Dressed

From the Kardashian-Jenner’s to Halle Berry, everyone is showing up in their finest for the 2017 Met Gala.

With a theme of Comme Des Garcons, this year’s Gala is the first in 34 years to soley showcase a living designer: Rei Kawakubo. It’s fashions biggest night. Many celebrities this year decided to play it safe, through the sea of black, we have found the most standout outfits for better or worse.

  • Best Dressed #5: Halle BerryIt’s amazing to think that Halle Berry hasn’t ever walked the Met red carpet. She fixed that tonight with her dramatic debut. Wearing a Donatella Versace sheer body-hugging halter jumpsuit with over-the-top tiered train that left our jaws on the floor. The embroidered sheer one-piece was accented with metallic gold appliques that cascade into a long train in the back.
  • Best Dressed #4: Ashley GrahamFor her debut appearance, Ashley kicked it out of the park. Designed by Rei Kawakubo's label Commes de Garçon, the deconstructed and shapely dress works to show off her figure perfectly.
  • Best Dressed #3: Blake Lively and Ryan ReynoldsBlake stood out in her custom-made Atelier Versace gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. The pop of blue perfectly matched hubby Ryan Reynolds’ Versace tuxedo and pale blue tie making them the best dressed couple of the night.
  • Best Dressed #2: Cara DelevingneBoldness is what Cara is bringing this year’s Gala. With dramatic silver paint coating her freshly shaved buzz cut she managed to find an outstanding outfit to match. A brocade Chanel pantsuit from the Spring 2017 couture collection brought a touch of sci-fi futurism and editorial-worthy elegance.
  • Best Dressed #1: RihannaRihanna has been dubbed Queen of the Theme wearing an avant garde Rei Kawakubo-designed look that's included in the new Met exhibit honouring the designer. Twitter is currently losing it over her next level of fashion slaying.
  • Worst Dressed #5: Kylie JennerKylie doesn’t look bad. But this look is, as much as we hate to say it, boring. Wearing a Versace gown, while intricate and detailed, it is a repeat of the naked dress looks from previous years and we would love for Kylie to show her own sense of style she is so known for.
  • Worst Dressed #4: Katy PerryKaty gets the award for most outrageous dress. Head to toe- literally- in the Maison Margiela ‘Artisanal,' designed by John Galliano. In all red she wore a silk chiffon dress and an embroidered wool coat. Taking it even further a red veil, chrome headpiece and red Tabi boots. Whether you love it or hate- Katy knows how to make an impact.
  • Worst Dressed #3: Lena DunhamA different event and a better fit would have helped out Lena in her Elizabeth Kennedy plaid gown. Along with her dress, Lena wore a Planned Parenthood pin in support of the group. The effort is there but some changes would have made this outfit a whole lot better!
  • Worst Dressed #2: Kendall JennerThe most polarising look of the night- and possibly the most disappointing. Like her sister, Kendall wore yet another see through dress, but this one with a very visible G-string. She teamed the La Perla couture ‘dress’ with a pair of Christian Louboutin heels. We feel that the visible G-string doesn’t work. Maybe next time leave a little more to the imagination!
  • Worst Dressed #1: Madonna Madonna looks ready for battle in her Moschino camouflage dress. Paired with elbow length leather gloves and a military net in her hand (does anyone know why?), she continues to raise eyebrows with her fashion choices. Sadly she has made the number one spot on our worst dressed list- better luck next time Madonna!
