Jessica Mauboy talks new fragrance and summer beauty

Australian music sensation Jessica Mauboy excites fans with the release of her debut fragrance, BE BEAUTIFUL. The aquatic, fresh yet floral scent of BE BEAUTIFUL is equally at home on a summer day as it is on a glamorous, sophisticated evening out on the town. Making BE BEAUTIFUL the ultimate addition to your summer beauty routine.

Fashion Weekly chat to Mauboy on what the fragrance embodies for her and what being beautiful truly means.

Your new fragrance launch is very exciting! Can you tell us a little bit about what the fragrance embodies for you?

JM: Thank you! This fragrance embodies everything I love; it’s fresh, earthy and natural and reminds me of where I grew up in Darwin.

The packaging is beautiful. What inspired the emerald fragrance bottle with the diamond top?

JM: The packaging is a reflection of the inspiration [behind] the scent. The bottle is an aquamarine shade to represent the ocean and gold is my favourite colour!

How do you want women to feel when wearing the ‘Be Beautiful’ fragrance?

JM: I want women who wear this fragrance to be feminine, alluring, feel empowered and also connected to nature and the world around them. I was also conscious that it was reasonably priced and accessible for all my fans.

The fresh, fruity apple scent with base notes of spicy musk makes the ‘Be Beautiful’ an ideal fragrance for a spring date. What does your ideal spring/summer date involve?

JM: My ideal date involves my longtime partner [and I] on a beach with a beautiful sunset.

What is one beauty item that makes you feel instantly beautiful?

JM: A great body moisturizer ... bare legs and arms [with] sandals on a bright blue day is heaven, but your skin has to glow (and of course the moment summer arrives a pedicure is essential)! Whatever shape, size [or] age you are, if you skin is glowing and your eyes are bright, that is beauty. Oh and of course a beautiful fragrance.

What is your favourite thing about the Australian summer season?

JM: The total joy of an Australian summer day [is the] blue sky, a gentle breeze, fresh tropical fruit, water ready to swim in – [we’re] the lucky country indeed!

Following this launch, do you have any other exciting plans for the rest of 2015?

JM: I have lots of exciting things coming; more music and a new album as well as a role on Channel 7’s Secret Daughter in the New Year.
