This needs to stop...
Let me paint the picture. You’ve strutted into the 2017 with a confidence to leave the past behind you. The woman you’ve chosen to become is allowing you to celebrate your newfound freedom. You’ve finally stopped trying to understand f*ckboys and ghosting. You’re ready to protect yourself and start afresh. BUT, a new method of temptation creeps in and hits right where it hurts. Remember that guy you’ve been trying to let go? Yeah, the one who ghosted you... he’s back, but this time he has a new tactic and it's called breadcrumbing.
Explain you ask? Well, he is simply refusing to let you forget him, A.K.A breadcrumbing. He knows he doesn’t want a relationship nor can he commit - but that’s not the point. He wants to flirtatiously taunt you with his charm to ensure his ego runs at an all time high while you’re left wondering what the hell is going on.
It’s ultimately the perfect concoction of messing with your emotions. Because even if you were aware that it means nothing, it’s the fact that it becomes harder to let him go.
Those 4am late night text messages will light up your phone and you have to decide how to deal with them. No, these are not booty call messages. A booty call happens at 2am. Remember, he doesn’t actually want you - he simply wants to play.
If you thought ghosting was bad, think again. At least when he disappeared from the face of the planet you didn't hear from him which in turn gave you the space to move on. This new method is toxic and suffocating because it turns a tease into confusion and heartache.
The easiest way to deal with breadcrumbing is to stop the trail right in its tracks. Block his number, delete him from all social media platforms and forget him.
Woman to woman, you’re way to good for that. You don’t need to know that you’re being thought of at 4am. You need to be thought of at 4pm – when the sun is still up.
A guy who wastes his time thinking about you as an afterthought means he doesn’t deserve for you to give him any thought.
Don’t put yourself through this, delete, block and move on with your life.
Simply put, breadcrumbing isn't a trend you should plan on embracing - you’re too good for that. #AMEN
