To celebrate we caught up with Jacquelyn Dixon, designer behind the empowering label, Lowanna, to talk new collection, her best piece of fashion advice and why we need shine the spotlight on fashion for the every woman.

Tell us about the epiphany moment when you decided to create Lowanna?

JD: A friend (fit, active size 18) and I were talking. She said how she hated having to go to the men’s section to buy tights as they had penis pouches, but she couldn’t find anything else. I hated the fact that this was her only option as she was bigger – I wouldn’t have worn them!

What's been the best piece of fashion advice you've ever received?

JD: If you wear it with panache, you can pull anything off!

In 3 words, how would you describe your latest collection?

JD: Trendy, comfortable and flattering.

Who is the Lowanna woman?

JD: Lowanna means exquisite beauty, beautiful woman or tranquil waters. The Lowanna woman knows that size does not define her, and that she counts. She is confident and outgoing. She is you, me, your sister or your mother.

Why is it important that Lowanna is available on the ADEVEE Fashion online store?

JD: It is important that women feel good about their body and celebrate who and what they are. Adevee Fashion celebrates curves and inbetween sizes, and realistically shows apparel on a range of sizes and shapes allowing them to feel comfortable and confident in their selection.

Can you tell us about the inspirations behind your new collection strutting down ADEVEE Fashion Festival runway?

JD: We are inspired by seeing people enjoying themselves whether that be out walking, at boot camps or the gym, on hiking tracks or at the beach. If they are active and loving life then we are inspired to bring them something that adds to the enjoyment.

What will be the show stopping piece from your latest collection?

JD: We have a new swimsuit in sampling stage which will debut at the ADEVEE Fashion Festival that we think is stunning. Our new print tights are also pretty spesh!

Why is fashion of all shapes and sizes worth celebrating?

JD: Because women come in all shapes and sizes!

Why are you excited for the ADEVEE Fashion Festival?

JD: I love seeing a diverse range of women coming together and celebrating who and what they are, what is available and seeing the wonder that can be.

What does the future hold for Lowanna?

JD: So many exciting things! Additions to the range of styles available, a new accessory range that brings meaning to and provides inspiration from our heritage and a new custom service where you can custom design your own tights and tee’s.
