What hair trends will you be sporting this 2018 Autumn/Winter season?

The 2018 Autumn/Winter season will see shorter styles and pretty pastels, normally favoured in Spring, to bring an element of personalisation to each individual, according to Amy Gaudie, Salon Owner of the award-winning Urban Chic salon.

“Across all variations on styles and colours, we’re referring to it as “Effortless Chic”; hair that is on-trend, with that personalised touch and an effortless, beautiful luxe feel to it.”

One of the ultimate ways to welcome a new season is to go shorter, and one key trend is women going for the chop for Autumn/Winter 2018.

“With the seasonal change we’re finding many of our clients are embracing going shorter. Whether it’s long to luxe lob, a punchy pixie crop or new curtain fringe to mix up their style, these are the on trend looks at Urban Chic.”

Normally reserved for Spring and summer months, according to Amy there’s a strong pastel vibe for Autumn/Winter 2018, with a focus on lush, glossy finishes.

“There’s a complete juxtaposition with these pastel hues to the season – we’ll be seeing shades of rose gold and muted pink-beige reflects which can give a multi-tonal and multi-textural effect to the hair.”

Kylie Jenner & Nicole Richie provide Playful Pastel inspiration

“These pastels are great for toning back summer blondes without committing to going dark. In Queensland our seasons all tend to blend together, so we find our clients like to change more regularly then season to season, more like appointment to appointment, and for us this means we can really personalise each experience to make it an on-trend colour transformation each time.”

And the overall styling technique for the Autumn/Winter season?

“With my recent trips to #NYFW and #PFW we are embracing the “done undone” look which is proving incredibly popular! All girls want to look effortlessly chic and incorporating something as simple as braids into their style can take their look from day to night in an instant!”
