What a week of fashion and style it has been! Last night, (Thursday 31st August and the final day of winter) saw the close of a spectacular week of fashion for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane.

The prestigious event welcomed 2,500 fashion lovers across the five day Fashion Festival with shows selling out in record time of 31 days! More than 60 designers showcased, 120 models were booked, 150 volunteers made magic happen, over 200 people were directly employed across hair, makeup, production, management and support and up to 40 dressers worked backstage to get the models out on the runway swiftly!

Going out with a bang, the Mercedes-Benz Group Show treated guests to a dazzling runway event featuring some of the most coveted spring summer collections by leading Queensland and Australian designers Camilla, Aqua Blu Australia, Chelsea De Luca, Lisa Brown, George Wu, Urbbana, Paul Hunt, Dion Lee, Ginger & Smart and Manning Cartell.

We have the wrap up on our top 3 stand-out collections.

 Aqua Blu

When in doubt, go bold. Aqua Blu dared to break the rules this season and it payed off. Their latest collection consisted off plunging necklines, signature prints in soft blues and hot pinks, cheeky cuts and flirty separates.

Sexy yet practical, the range would easily take you from beach to bar in style and glamour. It's not for the faint at heart, their designs demand confidence.

George Wu

We love George Wu and I say this every time I see his designs float down the runway, 'he is bigger than Brisbane'. Our fashion industry is lucky to be able to call him our very own because he always delivers a flawless, couture collection that is beautiful in every way.

As per usual, he understands the female body and his creations flatter and flaunt in exactly the right places. Gorgeous laces, embellished bodices, soft ruffles, delicate v-necks, figure-hugging silhouettes graced the runway as the audience looked on in awe.

George Wu's couture gowns are always a breath of fresh air as they fuel the passion for anyone who appreciates creativity, patience and meticulous attention to detail.

Lisa Brown

There's a rough strength to Lisa Brown's designs. She embraces the Australian summer in her own signature way and Brisbane can't get enough of it.

Light fabrics, effortless silhouettes, relaxed cuts, lots of texture and unique design elements is what sets this label apart.
